Runway Inspired Challenge #20

Finally I am here with a card and a video.

Here is the card:

I made this card for the Runway Inspired Challenge #20.

Here is the inspiration photo:

The first thing that caught my eyes was the grey and the teal. They look so good together! And I thought the little pop of yellow in the background warmed up the image.

I was set on using a flower stamp from a PTI set called “Rosie Posie”. The stamp is a solid image stamp, and I don’t have any ink pad that matches the color of the jacket. I do have Copic markers in that color but I wasn’t sure how to use it with the solid stamp. I thought of stamping in a very light ink then coloring with the Copic markers, but the image has fine details which would be difficult to color in with a brush tip marker.

So to get an approximate color, I combined two distress inks; “peacock feathers” and “mowed lawn”. And as you will see in the video, I went to much trouble to get the flower in those combined colors.

Stamps: Hero Arts Square Pattern, All Occasion Messages, Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie.

Inks: Memento London Fog, Distress Ink Peacock feathers and Mowed Lawn, Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, Versamark.

Paper: Resume paper for flower, Neenah solar white for card base, Claer Presentation cover.

Tools: Ranger Ink blending tool, 1/4″ circle punches , 1/8″ circle punch, glossy accent, Two Way glue pen, anti static pad

  2. You are a wonderful cardmaker and a true artist. I have enjoyed perusing your blog this morning. There is an endless supply of eye-candy and inspiration!

  3. Awesome! And this only proves my point: Someone should make a mint green ink color! Maybe you could sell your formula to Hero Arts or something? 🙂

    • You are quite right Cristina. After I read your post I went through my ink pads and even searched for one online, but without any results. It is amazing that with so many ink pads out there, there isn’t any mint green!

  4. Wow! This is amazing, lots of work, I like the way you put the flower back together using the stamped image and a transparency!
