Hello!
Today I am sharing a card for CASADIA. It is a chain of cards where each card is designed inspired by the previous one in the chain. This was started by Wida, who never ceases to come up with something new and fun! The first card in the chain was this amazing card by Laura Bassen:
and after 22 cards, (you can see the whole chain here) it has transformed into this beautiful card by Michelle Foland:
Love the soft monochromatic colors on this card! The focal design of my card is inspired by the three flowers in a row, and the sentiment on the banner. Although I didn’t use a banner, part of my sentiment is on a smoke cloud. I also wanted to incorporate a geometric strip similar to the honeycomb background, but it turned into a polka dot washi tape! Here is my card, #25 in the chan:
The sentiments are from Paper Smooches Word Up and Word Salad, and the smoke clouds are from a Memory box die, although I did some trimming on them afterwards. The train engine and carts are just hand drawn and cut. I inked them up with a sponge applicator and various dye inks.
If you would like to join the fun, please contact Wida for more information.
Thanks for visiting!
Yep, I can see where your inspiration came from, yet your card looks so different. Such a fun exercise! Great job on cutting the train engine! The polka dot washi is perfect for the tracks.
This is SO cool! Love your gradient inking!
