Since my last card was a little bigger than the requirement at Moxie Fab World‘s Make an Itty Bitty card challenge, I decided to make another one. Here is the card:
When closed, this card measures 2.5″ by 3″. I took a picture with the card resting on my hand to give you an idea of it’s size:
Even though it sits on a tabletop like an easel, it can be folded flat for mailing:
The recipient then would have to fold acetate back to make it sit like an easel again:
- Card base: I cut out 2.5″ by 6″ white card stock and scored at 3″ and 5.5″ to create the .5″ flap where the table and chairs are sitting
- Pavement: I stamped a crackle-like image from CTMH’s Delightful Things set with Distress ink Pumice Stone, then applied the same ink with a sponge applicator.
- Wall: Applied Antique linen distress ink on a 2.5″ square white card stock using a sponge applicator. Applied the same ink on Tim Holtz Brick embossing folder and dry embossed the square piece.
- Pots: Since the stamp had the pots overlapping, I colored them with memento markers and stamped them separately. Colored the pots with Brown Copic markers and applied Antique linen Distress ink over the white areas between the leaves. Adhered them on wall using foam tapes.
- Chalkboard menu (sentiment box): used 5/8″ by 3/4″ black card stock, wrote with white gel pen then applied some white ink with a sponge dauber. Backed he piece with a slightly larger white card stock which I colored in using the same Copic marker as the pots. Adhered on wall using foam tape.
- Table and Chairs: Stamped them on acetate using Black StazOn. Colored Umbrella and table from back with white gel pen and red Copic marker. Trimmed all around except for the bottom where I left a quarter inch strip. Folded the strip back and adhered on pavement using glue stick.
The stamps are from the Inkadinkado Cafe stamp set.
It may seem a lot of steps, but it was really easy to make once I got the design figured out. And since all the pieces are separate, you can easily redo any of them if something goes wrong. There isn’t much wastage either, as the pieces are tiny!
This card reminds me of Kelly Griglione, since she is the master of making awesome 3-D cards that also fold flat 🙂
