Hello!
Some of my friends were wondering how was I posting cards when I was away for Hajj. Some even thought I was making cards there! Well, my last four posts, that is since October 8th, were all scheduled ahead of time. I have been back for just about a week now, but I am still recovering from tiredness, exhaustion and being a little sick. I would like to write about my travel and experience but I think I will wait for another day for just that.
For now, I will go back to this week’s CASE Study Challenge. Sadly, it is our last inspiration from Elena! I truly enjoyed CASEing the various ensembles from her blog, and this week’s one is probably my favorite:
When I first saw this one, I knew I had to think hard and use this inspiration well! Later when I thought back on this photo, all I could think of was chocolate and mint, with a hint of yellow, which I decided should be gold in my card 🙂
Looking once more before making the card I noticed that there were lots of white elements in the picture, and I particularly liked the beautiful white frame with its gorgeous texture.
To create the background texture, Initially I intended to use die cuts and raise them using foam tape. Then I decided to take the easier way and use an embossing folder; less dramatic but a lot faster, specially since the dies I wanted to use were giving a very hard time.
The pictures is pretty bad, but the leaves are actually nice shades of mint and chocolate. They are from Clearly Besotted Stamps Leafy Accent. I used Colorbox mint and SU! Chocolate chip inks to stamp them and then trimmed with scissors.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Beautiful Words and is embossed in gold.
Now I am craving some chocolate because my card has reminded me of this:
Make sure to stop by the CASE Study Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the team along with our muse Elena and guest designer Michelle came up with.
Thanks for stopping by!
Ooh, now I’m craving chocolates, too! Great card, Tasnim! Welcome home! I hope Hajj went exactly as you hoped. 🙂
Another stunning card Tasnim! Thank you for sharing.
A lovely card Tasnim – what brand embossing powder did you use ? I hope you are soon feeling better .
Thanks Lynn. I used Inkadinkado embossing powder. It came in a 1.7 oz. tub. Sometimes you can find them at Marshalls for just $2.
thank you .
Embossing is soo beautiful! Both- the golden sentiment and the background
Beautiful! Elegant and attractive. These are only some adjectives that don’t fully imply how awesome this card is! I love the colors, leaf arrangement, and the golden sentiment. Simply exquisite!
Welcome “Home”! Stunning care, love the combination of texture and dimension – perfectly done!
Just beautiful Tasnim… I think I could be inspired by chocolates every day lol.
Oh, WOW! This is just stunning! I absolutely LOVE the colors! Gorgeous card!
