CASE Study 2014!

Hello everyone!

I am here with the first challenge of 2014 at CASE Study! Last month we had inspiration from Cath’s Moxie Fab World. This month we are going back to our usual form of muse, which mean we have a new designer for you to be inspired by 🙂

It is none other than the fabulous Donna Mikasa! This girl is a superstar at clean and simple card making! You will be amazed at how simple and yet packed with a lot of pinch her designs can be!

We also have a new guest designer this month. Welcome aboard Erin!

Now let’s take a look at this week’s inspiration piece:

CSC173

I think the idea behind this design is simply genius!

However, my card is not so genius…I took a simple approach and translated the design into an Ombre of mists:

CASE-172

I sprayer Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Almost Black onto a piece of card stock, then stamped some stars in silver. I then went over the stars with Sakura stardust clear gel pen. Both the star and the sentiment is from the Studio Calico/Hero Arts set Darling Sentiments.

If you think about it, it almost looks like the spray of ink has formed the sentiment. Furthermore, the starts shows the path to the sender, similar to how in the past travelers relied on the stars for direction. Does it make sense? maybe I am thinking too deep!

I will submit this to the current Moxie Fab World Challenge; Constellation: Trendy Star Power Challenge.

Stop by the CASE Study challenge blog for more inspiration, and I hope you will get a chance to play along!

Thanks for visiting today!

  1. Yet again you leave me without the ability to form coherent sentences for how much I love one of your works of art. As an Astrophysics and misting loving girl this ticks so many boxes for me!! Add this one to the growing pile of your cards I want to own!!!

  2. LOL, you’re cracking me up, Tasnim! Just keeping thinking – LOVE it! The card is wonderful, I bet the sparkle is divine 🙂
