Hello everyone!
I am playing along Taheera’s Cure for the Monday Blues challenge. The inspiration photo has beautiful frames in it, and since I love frames, there was no way I was going to pass up on this one!
I tried something different today; collage and a little freestyle. I know it doesn’t look too complicated, but I spent a lot of time on this card, I don’t remember the last time I spent so much time on a card! Here is the result:
Stamping the background was easy and was done in a few minutes. I stamped the flower in the center then stamped twice more without re-inking. The scripts were all second generation stamping. I knew I wanted to use a frame, but after that came the trouble!
I fished out the blue vellum stickers from my scraps box, tried many different kinds of hearts (silver sparkle, silver vellum then finally pink vellum) and their positions, and changed the letter “u” three times from white to gray to silver sparkle, then back to white covered with white liquid enamel. Well, I think I like the result, but I wish it wasn’t so difficult! I suppose practice makes perfect 🙂
Here is a list of the supplies:
- Stamp: Stampin’Up! Elements of Style, Teresa Collins Girly Posh
- Paper: Neenah Solar White
- Ink: SU! Melen Mumbo, Versafine Smokey Gray, Versafine Onyx Black
- Other: Memory Box Classic Lower Alphabet, SSS Holiday Shapes, SU! Hearts punch, DYMO label maker, Smash Pink embossing tape, Ranger White liquid enamel
You rocked this Tasnim, it is a style that seems so out of my league… so I can only probably look and drool lol. ps had to pin it too.
It was worth the effort. The card totally works, brilliant.
Sooooooooo pretty <3333
I just knew you would come up with something spectacular! You didn’t disappoint – LOL
True artistry is never easy ;oP

Laura
sorry, not solo….sooooo beautiful!! 🙂
LOVE this! You can make any styles look gorgeous!
So awesome. I had very similar dilemmas– especially with one of my cards for the challenge. Placement, color, paper, here or there…?! Your result is perfect and worth the dithering!
One of the things I love most about you is that you are not afraid to experiment and stretch yourself creatively Tasnim! This is just such an example! Your freestyle collage/stamp layering is gorgeous, and I know how agonising the final composition was for you but I think you got the placement of everything just perfect! Thanks so much for playing to find a Cure For The Monday Blues!
That looks like patterned paper! Beautiful
