Runway Inspired Challenge #55

It’s time for a new Runway Inspired challenge!

The inspiration:

Quite glamorous, isn’t it?

Normally I would go for a damask or floral design, but I decided to use an intricate butterfly die. And of course, all those silver sequins meant that I had to use my silver glimmer paper!

RIC 55

  1. cut a square piece of glimmer paper. mine was 1.75″ square
  2. position the butterfly die on top of the square glimmer paper and run it through a die cutting machine
  3. apply adhesive to a slightly smaller square piece of scrap paper and place the die cut glimmer paper on top.
  4. carefully remove the butterfly shape leaving all the small pieces behind.
  5. Die cut the butterfly out of white card stock and emboss twice with black embossing powder
  6. apply glue dot behind the black butterfly and insert it into the glimmer paper.
  7. matte the glimmer square on to a black square that is 1/8″ larger.

This week our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp, and the winner will receive a $15 gift card to their online store.

Do stop by the Runway Inspired Challenge blog and check out how the rest of the design team was inspired by this week’s Runway look.

  1. Everyone had such different takes on the inspiration this time and I love your clean but glitzy and glamorous approach Tasnim! Love that delicate butterfly and the combination of black die cut against y hay silver glitter paper!

  2. Was just about to go to bed but wanted to tell you first how amazing this card is!! I get your blog posts by email and when I saw the gorgeous dress and then scrolled down, your card blew me away! It looks like Pamela Roland made the card, it goes with the dress perfectly. This is genius and a perfect card.

  3. lovin’ the double embossed butterfly; glad you shared the steps involved in the making of your interpretation! thanx for the inspiration!
