My daughter loves playing with play-dough, and so do I :). One day I sat with her, and made quite a number of random objects using play-dough molds: flowers, food items, houses, etc. I let them dry until they were hard. As I was looking at them later on, I realized I could use some of them as embellishments. I decided to give this idea a try with this week’s Runway Inspired Challenge.
The Runway inspiration:
I was inspired by the clean cuts and the solid colors. Here is my take:
For the background scene, I used the Memory Box Modern Landscape border die. First I die cut two square out of black and warm grey card stock, and held them together using some washi tape. Next I positioned the landscape die where I wanted it to be and secured it in place using some more washi tape. After running both squares and die through the die cutting machine, I pieced the grey sky and black ground together and adhered them using clear tape on back. I glued this to the card base, then using some glossy accent, adhered the play-dough house. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Mi Casa set.
Do you like playing with play-dough? Let me know if you have ever used it for any creative project 🙂
I haven’t played with play dough for many years , not since my grandchildren were smaller . I have never used it as an embellishment on a card either , but this card is cute and colourful , and makes good use of the inspiration photo..
Love this! The playdoh house is fantastic!!!
